Admit it. Your car’s dashboard isn’t keeping pace with your digital life. Scrolling through lists, pecking at tiny icons, entering addresses – it’s not just tedious, it’s dangerous.
We couldn’t find a solution, so we built one. Meet AutoDash, exclusively for Android.
AutoDash is the pet project of Duncan Carroll, Automatic’s lead Android developer, who set out to solve a common problem: using apps in a simpler, smarter way when you’re behind the wheel.

Clik here to view.Distracted driving is an obvious problem, but there aren’t many obvious solutions. If you haven’t shelled out the cash for a new car with the latest infotainment technology, your options are limited. Most dedicated car launchers are pretty terrible, but they’re not nearly as bad – or as unsafe – as scrolling, tapping, and typing while driving.
A phone’s user interface is designed to be used in your palm – not in a car. And that’s where AutoDash comes in.
AutoDash gives you the freedom to create a custom, car-friendly control panel that launches automatically when you start your vehicle. At the top is a map showing your current location, and below you can access all your essential apps on-the-go – simply, intuitively, and quickly.
Setting up AutoDash is as easy as creating a new home screen. The same widgets, apps, and shortcuts you use every day are at the ready when you need them, so you can get back to what’s important: driving.
If you have a second-generation Automatic, you can have AutoDash launch automatically when you start your car. Even if you don’t have an Automatic adapter, you can still benefit from the functionality and practicality of AutoDash. But the best apps let you do what you need quickly, so choose your widgets wisely.
AutoDash is available in the Google Play Store today. And even better, it’s free! Check it out and let us know what you think.
